Want all-you-can-eat knowledge? You’ve come to the right place. Bistro Knowledge trials, reviews and curates the very best of contemporary educational resources, bringing them them together at your fingertips for your learning pleasure. The idea is to mix and match – a little from column A and a little from column C, plus a hearty dollop from column K.
A newly revamped course catalogue is in development – watch this space.
Traditional institutions are increasingly demanding heavy financial commitments in exchange for educational provisions with limited capacities in providing the means to recoup the expense. At the same time, we believe that knowledge is power, and we want to empower you by linking you to the best in online learning resources and courses. It’s as simple as that, really.
Collaboration is our watchword, and crowdsourcing is our key to success. Why? Because it enables us to develop our offering with the lowest possible overhead, and that frees us to give you access to the knowledge you want without requiring you to pay an alarm-raising fee for the privilege.
As our name suggests, we value of a ‘mix and match’ approach to learning. In our own experience, we appreciate being able to take what we’re interested in and leave what we’re not so fussed about. We respect personal preference, and enable the application of it in our course offerings.
Bistro Knowledge is a network of associates with parallel interests in (a) making education accessible and (b) the possibilities enabled in that realm by digital technology. We’re teachers, teaching assistants, researchers, IT wizards and future-thinkers.
Our team is non-hierarchical – there’s no one at the top of the pyramid, and no single founder that any of us could pinpoint. When all is said and done, we’re about spreading the power around as widely as possible, and our focus is on doing just that by serving up knowledge.
